hey guys, have a kzn185, intercooled model, and running road tyres round town was getting 500km give or take to a tank, after a 2" lift, and fitting bighorn 764s i have lost easily 100km to a tank!!, now i knew id lose some efficiency, like 50km maybe not 100km? or could it be the particular mud tyre compared a kl71 may not lose so much?
just wandering what everyone has lost after putting on muddies
cheers !
fuel economy, since fitting 32" muddies
Re: fuel economy, since fitting 32" muddies
My fuel usage is significantly poorer going from 29~ish inch ATs to 32 inch MTs. Couldn't give you kms per tank though. Have a little roadie set with ATs and alloys that weigh about a third of the MTs ,would rather not burn up all my tread road driving.
Looks comical but I don't care, better road holding with the ATs.
terrano diesel turbo with 18psi boost and fuel to match.

Don't forget your speedo is out with the bigger tyres and won't be clocking up as many km as you are actually travelling.

yeah normally would agree with you!, but have gps tested, and on the road side there is the speed sencor which tells you how fast your going and
gps is 2km out,
and speed sign was 2km out,
so i may be wrong!, but wouldnt have thought would effect it as much

What was your old tyre size?
I know when i went from 31s to 33s with the v8 it drink close to 1/5 more fuel. Even tho that rpm was less. And as a side note i was having change out of o/d when towing more often as well.
