rubber suspension bushes

Post by y60 safari driver »

hi all
i'm lifting my truck and making longer trailing arms and panhard rods to suit the lift. need to replace all my suspension bushes anyway so good time to do them when its all in bits.
cant believe how hard it is to find rubber bushes. can anyone point me in the right direction? anything online? dont want to go polyurethane as they stiffen your suspension up and that's the opposite of what i'm trying to achieve. best i've found is leading arms and panhards out of aussie but they don't do trailing arms.

As painful as it sounds when I did mine I found that the only real option that I found was to get genuine Nissan ones
which were gold plated

If your making new trailing arms, could you not build them around surf rear link bushes or something similar that is real common? Or is that a pain in the arse (ie were you not planning to change chassis mount etc?)

no just doing a 3" lift and want to extend the trailing arms and panhards to get the wheels back where they should be. not sure what is involved in a mwb conversion or the benefits to be honest

Yeah sorry. Dumb questions on my part. I should have re-read your first post.
A MWB conversion is fairly drastic. People push the rear axle back 300 mm (ish) to make them climb better and be more stable at speed. I assumed you were doing something like this an hence were making new trailing arms.

Rockauto.com sell rubber ones (albeit aftermarket) and they ship internationally. It will be under 1987-95 Nissan Pathfinder.

Wouldn't recommend aftermarket bushes, my radius arm bushes lasted less than 6 months before they were stuffed and had to be replaced, The genuine ones are still sweet. Same with the trailing arms they lasted a bit longer but still only got just over a year and a half, The genuine stuff is worth the coin.
