1990 zook suspension lift
Hey guys i bought a dobisons heavy duty lift kit for my 1990 escudo 3 door front springs are 40mm lift and fitted great with factory shocks but the rear is where i had problems. someone before me did a dodgy lift but shocks were replaced after doing some reasearch the rear dobisons springs are only 30mm lift now i have it sitting on axle stands on the chassis so rear diff is at full droop and the springs are not captive at all what should i do??
Re: 1990 zook suspension lift
Maybe longer shocks have been put in to give more articulation, common mod with these. Generally Commodore shocks are used. If this is the case try putting standard shocks back in as they are around 50mm shorter in travel.
See if you can a part number of the shock, if not measure it's extended length and get a pic of it up here so I can have a look.

Re: 1990 zook suspension lift
Found a part number and the shock is a monroe gas 2-0115 and another number d-03mr923
Re: 1990 zook suspension lift
Top of the shock
Re: 1990 zook suspension lift
Bottom of the shock
Re: 1990 zook suspension lift
use shocks that are shorter when extended
Re: 1990 zook suspension lift
Hard to say if they are the original shocks from those pics. Monroe website states the standard shock extended length is 463mm, I suspect that this is from the center of the lower eye to the bottom of the lower steel washer on the top mount. Measure yours to determine of the shocks are longer.
