Cruiser power hubs???

Post by TonyN »

Can anyone shed some light on this job I have in the garage ATM....

The 3 torx screws that hold the slip rings of the power hub connections....

Are they normally stupid tight? It broke the end of my 'normal' torx bit, and then also what I considered to be a 'quality' set as well!!

Am I wasting my time? Is it time to break out a small chiesel and give it some stick, don't want to give more money to the Snap On guy if they are a dead loss.

I assume they have to come off to get to the wheel bearings? I normally only work on Surfs, this the first set of electric hunbs I've had to get off, got the manual pics from OldBlues gallery, very handy, but a page does seem to be missing after undoing the rings?

Cheers,

Tony

Its probily a bit late, but you need to get a 6mm flat end pin punch and place on the end of the CSK screw.
hit the punch a couple of times on each screw, then try and undo them.
If they dont budge, give them a few more hits. and try again.
