WTB: Winch controls? Akl/wherever
WTB: Winch controls? Akl/wherever
Hey all, I randomly purchased an old Superwinch 3000 for a crane project (don't ask haha) it came without any cabling/controllers etc. Looking at some images online it looks like they just bolt to the little terminals on one side? dual cable to battery and controller kind of setup.
Anyway, I have no clue if it works or not, and can't really test without the controls, so if anyone has any, from a dead winch, looks like they are all basically the same so maybe dead chinese one or something I would love to purchase the control dealio.
Cheers

you can make a switch up by using a momentary on.off.on switch.
positive to common and load to either solenoid

Ok... will try and figure that out haha, I'm electronically retarded

Re: WTB: Winch controls? Akl/wherever
Do you have the solenoid box or just the bare winch?

Just the bare winch I think... I'm assuming the solenoid bolts to the two small posts that come out the side of the "non cable" side?

Out in Henderson.
Hmmm... sounds like it might be an idea just to keep an eye out for a more complete setup. As I say it is just for a random project so nothing urgent

Sweet, will have a bit of an experiment, paid bugger all for it so no great loss, if it doesn't work/doesn't work after I mess with it it isn't a biggie haha

check out the link and if it is the same as yours you only have two wires to the motor. Just reverse the polarity to change direction. You could just use a pair of croc clips off a set of jump leads if it's a temp project.

Re: WTB: Winch controls? Akl/wherever
That's ok!
I probably should have listed the model, it's a Superwinch PM 3000 so just has two poles on one end... like this but sans the plastic cap on the end haha

If you want solenoids use this diagram, the solenoids are about $25 each of trademe, you would need 2 plus wiring and a switch.
