Toyota High mount ??

Post by Big »

Howdy guys, Just looking at getting a Toyota high mount but Ive heard that you need to make an adaptor for the motor if you change it? can anyone point me in the right direction for this bit of kit..? As the winch I think will end up being a 24v one and I run 12v.. so there lies the problem.. Ta

You can get 12 volt ones. You can also put the 12 v motors off Toyota low mounts on ( that's what mine is)
You can use the aftermarket splined motors, we have just cut the spline off at the right length and cut a key way into it, can't remember exactly but I think you needed an original motor to cut down to use the mount.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)

I've just done this, but running another 24v motor. I had an adaptor machined up spline to keyway, also had to machine out motor mount to take bigger bearings, (all I could find). Their were adaptors made up a few years ago with a big alloy spacers, got one of those too. If your in Auckland your welcome to have a look.
