A while since the last post.....

Got the 50mm lift kit in, cheers H2o and Niblik, (well, H2o. Nibby just stood round annoying us :P )

Had "Dan the man" check out the electrics, he rekoned it was all good, so H2o and nibby got it running last nite.(I was at work... ) Started first go, and ran goodly!! They also bled the clutch!! LEGENDS!!!!!

So, what's left......

Discovered that the 60 steering shaft is too short after the lift, the last half of the exhaust to be altered and put on, and the transfer selector needs modifying (it's further back on a 61 box, doesn't fit thru the hole!!), and a windscreen replaced..... I wonder who could do that for me........

Nibby got a couple of pics, could you post them buddy??!!

Oh yeah, got given a set of 31" kuhmo's, about 2/3rds worn, but hey, they're free!! I'll put them on to play with till I get some 33"s...

If you go to Novus you have to show them your Crack and when you go to that Canterbury Windscreens outfit you have to deal with either LOVA or BUM.  .

Nearly ready to rock!!!!

Nib and H2o got her running on friday, JOY!!! :D

Finished work this morning at 6, and started "buttoning up".

Had to modify the steering shaft, cut down a 61 steering shaft to fit, the liftkit pulled the 60 shaft thru too far..... easy.

One of the engineers at work fabricated a new selector shaft for the transfer out of stainless rod, I'm goin to pop in to work tonight and shorten it a little, it touches the gearstick in L4. (Hey, it was all guess when we made it!!! ) The 60 stick and selector are side by side, the 61 has about a 150mm gap between them, so the hole in the tunnel doesnt fit.... see pic

got the free 31's fitted to H2o's old mags (cheers dude!!!), they look pretty cool for baby tyres.....

So, just the windscreen and bumper, and some bars and I'm done to start off.......plat time!!!!!

Looks good, you will have some fun. They are quite capable even standard.

You should look at removing or altering that towbar, it's going to drag on any decent drop off.

Cheers
Matt.

Yeah, that ugly old bar is gone  Nibby had the one off his donor 60 wagon, with some slight mods it should fit good. Found some rust when we took the screen out, some blackguard and newtech sorted that out  , hopefully get that sorted friday, and she's ready to go :D

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had it's first play on sunday, went bloody well!! We'll have to wait for mudbum to post some pics, he had the only camera.

Anyway, here's a pic of the new bullbar mounted up, cheers H2O

http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/modules ... _photo.php

You'll notice the patented H2O "A-Frame retention device", a nice touch

The only problem I had all day, due in part to the 4 billion water crossings...(guess who was in the lead, coughH2Ocough) is a starter that now no longer starts. (Does that make it a stoper?) All I'm getting is a click from the relay, no noise at all from the starter. Any ideas/previous experiences appreciated 8)

Jeez Goose, You should be a f**kin' expert on starter motors after the trip we took you on. You know how to pull down starter clutch packs, battery weld up bits that don't behave, Interchange different starter motor bits, Pull starter motors apart, fully strip and rebuild and test.

What more do you need to know?

Havn't done the bash-ometer on it yet, mainly because it doesn't even sound like power is getting there, just a click from the relay, no click in the starter like you'd get if it was stuck. No dimming of the lights either...

And Rok, if I wanted to know how to pull starters apart, weld etc, I might have actually watched........
