Another problem for my escudo

Recently bought a 1990 escudo the dash 4wd light stays on even when its not in 4wd i dont know what to do to fix it any ideas?? Would really apperciate any advice thanks its a g 16a manual 3 door

You might have a sticky 4wd switch on the transfer case. There's should be a couple of switches on the transfer case, one below and in front of the lever and one on the top of the case in front of the lever. Ones for 4wd and ones for low ratio, unplug and unscrew them and use a voltmeter to determine if they are working. Might be a prick of a job getting to the top one and the connectors, you'll have to remove the center console for access.

Thanks for that pulled it out today and its buggerd the little push in bit doesnt come out time for a new one
