ln106 two piece to one piece rear driveshaft

Post by nzlux »

I have a single cab ln106 hilux with a 2 inch suspension lift and a two piece driveshaft. I am wearing out the centre hanger bearing, rather than continue to replace the hanger bearing does anyone know if another model hilux / surf / 4 runner single piece rear driveshaft will fit or do I need to get a replacement single piece driveshaft made?

Also what are the wof requirements? Drivehshaft hoop? Cert? etc

Can you make a spacer to lower the centre bearing so it isn't under as much strain?

They work fine with a single piece, just measure from centre of gearbox output nut to pinion flange nut and get driveshaft place to make one up. Driveshaft hoops are only required if power output of vehicle had increased. As for cert, i dont think its an issue. Early model hiluxs came factory with single piece driveshafts rn46 etc like crumpys original one. We've had 5 or more made for differant hiluxs now at CircleTrak engineering in christchurch.
cheers
