Land cruiser 80 man or auto box wtb

Post by callumb »

Wanted, truck is an auto, trans is getting hadit, so undecided if I'll put a manual in or keep it auto, if you have a good auto or manual box or just a conversion kit for an 80 series let me know. It currently has an a442f non electronic trans in it

A lc73/4 gearbox should bolt up.
Will need custom cross member and altered d.s.
Getting a clutch pedal for a 80 will be rear as.
Possible convert a 70 pedal and cylinder to suit.
Will become parttime as well so will need f.w.hubs

To add to that, the cluth pedal and trans tunnel trim from a manual early 80 are obsolete, so only way to get them is if local Toyota has stock :-( or 2nd hand

Although I did find out that if the vehicle came out as a manual, you can do an auto -> manual conversion without a Cert providing you dont touch the brake pedal.

So you cant find a 5spd out of a bj or hj 73/4 lc then?
Got two sitting out back shed right now

Must be loads down your ways shorely

Unsure about the engine output but at a guess should be fine spline so clutch should all work

Just need to sort pedal box as stated above
