TC Lockup

Post by tuckertrucker »

Hi guys, sorry to be clogging up the forum but it's really a great place to find info!! I'm going ahead with the lockup switch circuit using (hopefully) an adapted circuit from the standard one on http://www.chaz.yellowfoot.org/Lockup%2 ... Switch.htm , my circuit doesn't include the brake light relay so I can engine brake and use the service brake. I'm getting the relays hopefully tomorrow and am looking at 10 AMP 5 Pin relays from supercheap. Are the Tridon microrelays suitable? I'll be fusing the entire circuit with a 10 amp fuse.
Cheers in advance.

any of you ladies in the know on these relays? Also, is there any differences between the GQ and the Y60? Or is it just a different countries model - ie GQ=Patrol Y60=Safari

Those relays should be fine mate..although you may find an electronics retailer like jaycar if you have one around is a lot cheaper than the like of supercheap and auto sparkies.
As for the models. Y60 is the chassis code, the model code GQ seems to be applied to anything that isn't the GranRoad models which are GR..strangely enough when you move to the Y61 chassis (GU) the GranRoad is still a GR lol so who knows on that one really haha..although the highest Y60 model that I've never seen here I believe is the KingsRoad which supposedly has undersprung front seats and a few other goodies

Cheers for that mate, I'll have a look around for a jaycar or something cheaper. Also the model thing is a bit strange aye. Haha. SoI might as well assume I'm a Y60 GR (cause Im a granroad). I myself have never been able to distinguish all those differences. There are so many variants

there are so many variations to one single truck! it gets hard to follow haha. You ask someone what kinda truck the drive and the say a safari, and you still don't know.
