Nissan terrano diesel qd32

Post by Stubbies »

having issues with the truck going into a type of limp mode when running. You come to a corner and ease off and it revs to a limit then won't go further, I pump the throttle about 3 times and then it revs right and goes back to normal, I've had it on a diagnosis machine and it said throttle sensor so we reset the computer and it done it again, runs fine then has some real moments.

did it come up with TPS code again?

if it does it only going around the corners sometimes its a build up of air in the fuel filter. replace the filter and check for air being sucked in.

Sounds like a faulty TPS or wiring to the TPS. Check as Tweak said above and if that doesn't help take a look at this link below:

It doesn't say what engines but if your TPS looks the same than it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the replys, no I haven't replaced the tps. I will put it back on the diagnostics tomorrow and see if the code is up again. If so I will get a new sensor.
Was towing the boat back from Coro today and it done it going up a steep hill when I took my foot of slightly on the throttle not good..

just be aware it could get very expensive very fast if it isnt the tps as there is only one other thing that will do that, the fly by wire needle valve control.
hopefully in your case it is merely a corroded contact or plug/wire.

i think so, and i have the one off mine sitting in the shed if you need one, ive gone with a mechanical pump so surplus to requirements.

Thanks , it's just so random the fault. Runs mint for ages then just does it randomly. Found one for $40 which is out of a 2.7 . Thinking once it's changed over its either tps or plug/connector, Its a ratly old beast that's for sure
