Kzn130 wheel alignment query.

Post by Screwben1 »

Hey guys just got a wheel alignment done and have something I'm not too sure about.
Aren't these 2 bolt disc things supposed to be in the same place on each side?

Only if everything is made to sub millimeter tolerences! They are there in case there is any part is made slightly differently (normal) or is bent. I think they will adjust camber and if there is a large difference in position you probably have a bend in something, an incorrect part or a sloppy wheel alignment job. Check your final readouts (especially the camber) and if they're out of spec ask for an explanation or go elsewhere.

Yes they are concentric cams for camber adjustment, basically they move the whole lower arm in or out. They are very convenient for servicing, reasonably durable.

It should have about 1-2 degree of negative camber at ride height.

In my opinion the tyre/wheel combo you are running is really overloading the toyo ifs.

Best case scenario is that a wheel bearing or bushing or balljoint is worn out on one side, causing the alignment guy to set the camber way positive

Worst case could be that the frame is bent at the rear mount for the lower arm. This area is not braced and is not hard to bend.
