Found a restricting washer in my snorkel ??

Garage talk. Anything from mounting a winch to water proofing the electrics.

Found a restricting washer in my snorkel ??

Post by catalystracing »

I have been chasing an annoying rattle somewhere in the passengers side foot well, guard. I was checking the snorkel mounting and I pulled the top hat off the snorkel and found a washer sitting on top of the main down pipe. The ID of the washer is about 38mm. I cannot think of a good reason to have it in so out she came. Any ideas why this is put in there??, maybe it was an April 1st thing from previous owner. It has been laser cut from stainless so certainly seems deliberate in its placing.

Cheers Paul.

Possibly for noise reduction? I had a similar experience but I found a large piece of foam in mine, pulled it out and it ran much better but also a lot noisier.

Haha, I note the very small font. The problem is Crash; with that solution the noise moves inside and gets louder....

Check you brake disc backing plate, give it a bit of a bend by hand and see how that goes.

Number plates vibe two sometimes.

The rattle wasn't the missus after all......
It was the front corner bracket holding the bumper on, the nut from the bolt that comes into the engine bay was loose.
Who would have thought that it took 3 months to find it
