Hi, I've got a Ramsey Winch here and want to know if they are any good, what it's worth etc. it's 9-9500lb (can't remember exactly) and in good working condition. Electric winch obviously.
If need be I could get it out and take a picture or two if wanted.
Any info about it would be good.
Thanks
Ramsey Winch

Re: Ramsey Winch
Oh cool that's good news. Worth hanging on to then. I was contemplating selling it and getting something like a 12000 pound supercheap one for more grunt. Will just give it a birthday and fit it now tho.
Would it be worth changing to a synthetic rope or just keep the steel one?
Thanks

A few good reasons on this youtube clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnM-hT3vr-cdvk-kp wrote:Oh cool that's good news. Worth hanging on to then. I was contemplating selling it and getting something like a 12000 pound supercheap one for more grunt. Will just give it a birthday and fit it now tho.

Re: Ramsey Winch
realistically its worth very little, you can wait for a supercheep special and go and buy a brand new 9000 lb winch for about 400 bucks so that makes the resale of old second hand winches respective of their origin pretty low, probably the only exception would be second hand 8274s but even those aren't that popular with all the 2Up and other twin motor adaptors available nowdvk-kp wrote:Hi, I've got a Ramsey Winch here and want to know if they are any good, what it's worth etc.

Cool thanks guys. Will just hang on to it...
Possibly even fit it with synthetic rope at some stage. That video made it sound like the business!
