Post by muddyhilux »

How do they measure the "33in max"? for the Reefton challenge, there's a 34in limit - measured on a guage - so I'd be surprised if there were many advertised 35's that wouldn't fit. (Simex seem to be an exeption in being larger than advertised) As an example - my 33x12.5x15 Goodyear MTR's actually measure under 32in across the tread (at 35psi). And if you don't want to run bigger tyres - why bother with the extra lift? Put the dough into a locker or winch or rollcage instead

cheers for the input guys,in terms of the extra lift muddy ive maxed out my suspension and i need 2" to get a good clearance so i figure y not make it 4 and have heaps of room incase any small tree branches decide to be eatin by my wheels and yeh ive contacted the certers niblik and told them my plan in detail,im a fitter turner/tool maker and hes told me that my plan would be fine for 4 or even 6 inch lift, also the other thng is im looking to upgrade the suspension again in a year or so and get 4-6inch spring increase,in all im just coverin my butt for in the future if i go even bigger and better i dont have to pay for cert againr,i really do think imgona have to go with the 35"s now,u guys have fully convinced me lol..more money

yeh the fun is really what im after, also in terms of the money muddy i can produce a 4" lift for the price of buying a 2" from the shop, and allready onto the rollcage and winch, well not so much winch yet but the bracket will be put on the truck for the cert along with the cage and lift, tyres and pos eng conversion,oh i can imagine the fun now
