D4D 2008 hilux

hi all looking at option for a new truck
not after a extreme off roader just looking at something to toy the jetski and quad tow the trailer to het firewood etc and be able to go to the river etc
but it needs to be nice enough to be the family truck as well
I have looked at the holden rodeo and was disappointed looked at the ford ranger nice truck with lots of power
but have been offered a good priced 08 hilux
so any info would be geed

go down the car yard and take one for a good test drive to see if its what you want mate

Toyota utes have good resale values - but reliability and off road ability all much the same for Japanese utes these days

Had a brand new hilux couple of years back as a work ute, thought it was a great truck. Then I got swapped into a ranger and it was like going forward a generation in vehicle - steered better, rode better, quieter, more power. Hilux was still a nice truck but easy to see why Ranger tipped it off the top selling ute spot.

just upgraded our fleet at work to ford rangers, earlier ones had issues electronically but newer ones seem to have the bugs fixed.

D$D hilux's have there own sets of issues too, no the $ sign was not a mistake. lol

agree with crash they are teh D$D, check out my problem one viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34532

You want to get an injector feedback value test done, check if they have been replaced and the seals etc etc. EGR's systems clog up the intake,
