Re: looking for advice - rubber
if you want mud tires that are suited to road driving, it seems (to me) the most popular radials (in the mid range price bracket) are the maxxis Bighorn 762/764, the Hankook RT03, and the Kumho KL71. Indeed, the more hardcore forum members with their bias ply Simexs/ Silverstone Extremes view the aforementioned radial tyres as very good All Terrain tyres
On farm, I find ATs very limiting/frustrating(offroad) as soon as it rains. But if you are doing rocks/sand, ATs are fine/best.

Done bit of sand driving performed well.
Haven't done any slushy mud yet but done bit on my old bfg at and better than average.
There benchmark for ALL terrian tyres

I see I missed your thinking of heading to Sth Is, down the bottom!!
I had a chance to spend a couple of weeks in a Troopy with BFG km2 MUDs in it. Fantastic tread design, I reckon they WOF be hard to beat as a good all rounder M/T , that's some serious void length, almost to the centre of the tyre and they are quiet too!!

A few mates have just bought GOODRIDE SL386 MUD LEGEND MT tyres and they seem to do pretty well, similar tread to the BFG as above and have good voids too.DieselBoy wrote:I see I missed your thinking of heading to Sth Is, down the bottom!!
