WTB a SWB 2000+ WELLSIDE DEFENDER.

Post by kaupoi »

HI GUYS,

My best mates on the hunt for a SWB defender if anybody knows of any for sale or is thinking of selling theirs.
Hes looking at importing one if he cant get one here.
Real motivated buyer.

None in any car dealers.

Cheers,
Haare

really rare to find one like that, let alone to find one for sale. If he imports from UK, put special emphasis on the pre purchase inspection, specifically the chassis and underbody for rust, as SOME (depending on ownership and use) have been exposed to salt treated roads in winter.

FYI 100% of the UK salt the roads in Winter, the south of England maybe a fraction less often.

The Defender 90 is a popular vehicle and anything for sale doesn't usually hang around for long.
Hence they seem to command a premium price over similar 110's.

And a truck cab 90 is a rare vehicle indeed. Lee European had one up for sale recently. Worth checking if still available. Had a few upgrades as well.

With importing you either have to import a late model (2008 onwards) due to emissions. Otherwise has to be over 20 years old and if from UK then rust will be a problem, along with overall condition as they are usually hard worked on farms etc.

Keep in mind, its not impossible to convert a wagon to truck cab.

True. Just have to watch which model as from around 2001 they did away with the bulkhead behind front seat on wagons.

There was one in a card yard in Palmy a month back, green for 27k, was sold before he had time to enquire. He thought they may be quiet easy to come by, was he wrong.
Ill let him know about the rust issues for when he imports one.
Thanks guys.

He only wants to spend up to and including 35k but as time goes on, that price goes up.
