LWB vitara springs

Post by OllieH23 »

Gidday everyone,

I've got a SWB V6 and I've just brought a set of LWB springs for it. Im a complete newbie, so I was just wondering what's involved in swapping them over? I've read about strut mount flipping and stuff but a full rundown would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

Strut mount flip:
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=20362

Rear Springs:
Jack car up, support it on axle stands on the chassis rails.
Take rear wheels off.
Put another jack under one side of the rear diff (trolley jack or scissor jack). Lift it slightly.
Disconnect the rear shock (bottom is easiest, but if you have replacement shocks as well, take the whole shock off),
Lower the jack under the diff, letting the diff down until the spring is loose/free.
Take spring out. Put replacement spring in.
Jack diff up again.
Re-connect shock

And do the same on the other side.

Cheers for that! Does ol' mate take any notice of the flipped mounts when they do a warrant??

I doubt they would notice.
