hey guys have just had engine conversion done in my 85 d-cab from 2.4 deisel to 2.5 1jz petrol motor :twisted: out of a crown or creseda have one problem the car the motor came out of got crushed and the "map senor" was in it so we have motor in and runing and computer all going just missing one little plug that plugs into computer and vacume so the engine knws what its doing :P and with out this one little plug th motor runs realy rich and sounds like junk i have tryed puting a map sensor from a caldina on and it worked and ran alot better but i need to find one from a "1jz" engine does any1 have or know of any1 or any wreckers that would have anything? i have tried all of the wreckers in chch sounds like theres not many 1jz's around :cry: anyone have any contacts that could source a part like this :?:

Give toyota a go too, sometimes their random-number parts price generator has a hiccup & an item will actually be a sensible price. It's rare but it does happen so it's always worth calling.

I rang Toyota when I found the sensor missing and asked for a price........................................ $600 - $700 with an 8 week lead time :shock:

Also asked for a cross reference to see if they used the same sensor on any other engines but no luck :(

Toymotor spares in Wordsworth street has a box of Map sensors, none for the 1ZJ, which you could try, maybe find one that will get you by until a real one turns up.

How did the new exhaust turn out ?

You could try my map sensor off the 2JZ see if that works??? If it does there should be some of those around..

yea i mite try yours wjw :D

exhaust good they did a tidy job its quite loud though hopefully not to loud for cert :lol:
