Hey guys, I thought this would be the best place to post this.
I flooded my 1996 Surf 3L turbo diesel a couple weeks back. Water came up to just under the radio. Dried her all out etc and has been working with no problems for the past two weeks apart from the central locking which has completely stopped working. Any suggestions as to work out where the cause is?
Thanks in advance
KZ185 Central locking problem
Re: KZ185 Central locking problem
i think the module is located just above the fuse box down by the drivers right leg, behind a panel. it will likely be a small plastic black box, usually, with white writing and numbers on it. I read the kzn130 surfs central locking module is under passenger seat, so have look there if you can't find it elsewhere.
tell us about the surf dunking…. bit gutting.

Tried to get a cross a river that was all shingle at the bottom and the truck dug it self in and started to sink. Was under for about 20mins before we got it out.

There's something in my head telling me the module attached to carpet under drivers seat
modified surf, hardly drive it seem to keep modifying it....
Re: KZ185 Central locking problem
The little black box under the drivers seat of some vehicles is for an after market alarm/central locking.
I took mine out as I don't have the remote to set it. Its been out for around 3 months now and no problems with electrics.
I unplugged it first for about a week to make sure it didn't upset anything (central locking still works) then removed all the wiring and it goes to about 5 different areas of the vehicle.
There may be water in that ( if your vehicle has one)as it is wired into the central locking.
