Qd32eti
Qd32eti
I have a 1997 qd32eti auto and am wanting to read the ecu fault codes does anyone have experience of a cheap way to do it ? It has a 14 pin plug and a 14 to 16 pin obd11 adapter and elm bluetooth sender ads up to about $30. Will that work or there's an rgb adapter to plug in to laptop and download some software , conzult free version or ecu talk? Or anyone had their vehicles codes read for a cheap price ? I'm in wellington.
Re: Qd32eti
typically you bridge certin terminals of the obd port and count the flashers of the engine light.
download a manual and it should have the instructions.

Re: Qd32eti
have you worked out if its OBD, OBD2 or something else, OBD2 came out around 1996 but wasn't necessarily implemented by all manufacturers on that date
OBD you can short the pins on the diagnostic plug and count the pulses on the engine light to read the code(s) but OBD2 needs a scan tool to down load the codes as the come out in 5 digit format

Re: Qd32eti
it will be nissan consult system. they didn't go to OBD until a lot later.
Re: Qd32eti
Thanks I bridged two of the pins on the old style 14 pin plug (with only has 8 wires running to it) and it continuously flashed 1 long followed by 8 short flashes and I read somewhere that long= 10 and short=1 so code 018 witch is F/INJF/B2 = injector pump .... can any one confirm any of this . Thanks heaps
