Semi-noob with questions

Post by Kiamad »

First off, I'm Desmond, I drive a red/gold Kia sportage (1st gen), running mud terrains :D can usually be found at the waimakarari river bed weekdays after 4.50 :)
Any who, questions:
1. Does a rated D-Shackle bolted through the chassis constitute a rated recovery point?
2. Does anyone in chch want to make me a 3" stainless steel snorkel?
3. Does anyone have any stock jeep tj hardtop rear springs or 1998 rav4 rear shocks?

In reply to the first question.
NO!
A shackle bolted through your chassis will rip out and go flying. at the very least you can remove your tow ball if you have one and fit the shackle through the hole. But really you should get a solid steel mount made up that bolts to your chassis correctly for either a shackle or a rated hook.

For a good fabricator for a mount and a snorkel talk to Tomsoffroad.
