FS 750-16s, widened rims and other series one LR stuff

Post by Cameron »

Bought this ol' 1953 80" series one (ex army) purely for the rebuilt 186 sitting in it. need to recoup some funds and get rid to make some space so the cook doesn't get too pissed off at all my wrecks taking up the back lawn.

wanting to sell the rest as a going concern or will part out if there's any interest.
gearbox to holden adaptor available. also an extra adaptor that i'm told is for a series 2/2a rather than a series one.

chassis is ROOTED. like, break in half from rust bad. most of the body is fairly rough too but reasonably straight. bulkhead/firewall = more rot than steel.
been sitting around for about 20 years.

has these lovely widened wheels on it (all width added to the outside) that are fitted with some lush old goodyear wranglers in 750-16 crossply sizing.
haven't measure the tread depth but there's probably a healthy 10mm or more on all of them. refer to pic at top of page for tread pattern. never seen another set of these ever!
little bit of perishing in the sidewall but not too bad. I went through a re-vin on worse recently but I'd probably say these ones are best used on an offroader!

yeah man they have a sligthly different appearance in the centers but they're otherwise the same.
they're probably not really any wider than LWB steels for a series 3 but all the width is offset outwards so it makes the track width a little wider, and lokos a lotmore staunch.

TBH I kinda wanted to keep them but a second spare set of landrover wheels will take up so much space and I've already got a huge hoard of car parts taking up room in me shed so out they go haha.

I chucked one on the back of my series 2a the other day. sits just inside the guard. not sure if they'd clip on the front but shouldn't do. you could probably adjsut the steering stoppers and gain more lock with these being more outward offset.

my stock LWB wheels sit a good 2" or more inward than these haha
