Whos the best cert person to see around Chch at the moment? Looking to cert my SJ413 with a few bolt on mods

The certifiers I would recommend talking to are:

(a) Jon Palmer - Timaru
Jon is good in the fact that he is a race car guy. He is quite practical and he comes up to Christchurch on a Thursday to inspect cars, so you can ring and book him for inspections.

(b) Another user friendly certifier is Steve Rhodes from Temuka. you would probably have to take the car down to Steve for any certification work.

There is also Don? think that's the right name, in chch, on Main South Road, around number 105-111 (some where in there, just can't exactly remember name) but he's a bit more hot roddie. though.

For design proposals you need to contact Justin Hansen from the LVVTA
Phone: 04 2384343, if it's really left field. They can give you an indication, before you waste money trying to get something cert'd, that the cert guys aren't cumfy with.

Its Don Hoff in Christchurch or Ian at West Eyreton motors. Ian and don work together on some stuff as Don is Ian's supervisor as he is new to certifying.

Would recommend Jon Palmer if he is travelling up to Chch, he worked with me on certifying my modified FJ40, he didn't mind a lot of questions from me and even came to check out what I was doing at my place one night.
Good guy who seems genuinely interested in all sorts of vehicles, some of those other guys seemed a bit scared of 4wds especially after the issues with one other certifier who was popular in Chch.
Be honest with them and ask before you go off and do something, you get a more positive reaction then.

I thought only Don was able to do scratch builds. IS that true or is there someone else capable in chch area?
