Will these spring spacers fit my Escudo?

Post by bronx89 »

Hey guys :)

I have just picked up a little 1991 Suzuki Escudo Nomade as a wee beach/bush hack! Have owned plenty of 4x4's in the past so not a newbie to that, but definitely a newbie to anything Suzuki!

The engine is a 1600cc SOHC 16 valve injected engine and a 5 speed manual gearbox. It is a 4-door long wheel base model and has no modifications (yet) other than extractors. It has a TD01W chassis. Not sure on the engine model, G16A or B?

Anyway, I'm wanting to give it a slight lift to fit in 30x9.5" mud tyres on 15x8 -19et steel wheels. Not wanting to fork out anything excessive at this stage so I am not wanting a suspension lift of body lift, I am interested in a 30mm spring spacer lift. The details on the auction I'm looking at are sketchy but from what I can tell they will fit my vehicle, I have tried measuring the springs in-place but this is incredibly hard and to the eye they do not look like the taper. Not handy to a jack as my big trolley one has just sh*t itself. Is anyone able to confirm these will fit my beast?

Auction here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... 1040181537

Image of my rear suspension setup on one side for visual reference is attached.

Many thanks everyone :) Awesome forum!

Should do. I think I bought the same for my Vitara. Should be plenty of room to get a tape in there and measure your springs

Na man my phone barely fits in there  I can measure the diameter about half way up fine, but top is impossible due to bump stop (with a tape measure, all I have handy at the mo!) and bottom I can't get to either due to the other stop so the only place I can measure is about 1/3 of the way up and 1/2 way down.

Do Vitara's and Escudo's have the same suspension setup? Are they the same thing!? Lancer vs. Libero type thing?

If your springs aren't tapered it shouldn't matter where you measure them.
Pretty certain the suspension is the same

By eye they don't appear to be tapered, but looking from the angles I need to it is hard to tell. That's why I wanted to measure to be sure, which I can't do without taking the springs out either.

Might just try and find a scissor jack and whip a spring out to be sure.

Is anyone else able to give a definitive answer from experience?

Cheers!
