Re: Td42 thermostat and accessories
Hows the temp with factory thermostat?
Temp gauge is all over the show, needle holds midway then climbs readily when going up hills, have had needle touching H and over it at one point when I let of throttle and the hot coolant came through the temp sender before thermostat did something and temps came down still under load. its got a 77 deg thermostat.
Read up on patrol 4x4 about the bypass valve on thermostat not closing early enough to maintain temps with aftermarket ones, interested to see how factory thermostat goes before i start diddling around with it.

Re: Td42 thermostat and accessories
Sta do a high flow triton thermostat for much less than 80, I'm sure it was <40. Installed works well, I'm told the oem ones are good , some after market ones don't flow as well.
As for temp…I fitted a redline ally rad, I put au fans with manual switch.
I can drive Ak to ureweras hunting 4hrs and only use the fans maybe twice for 5 mins when temps rise above 80c when driving some long big hills, I'm doing 100kmph.ie on open road at speed airflow without fans is more than enough.
The point here is: if your having cooling issues get your rad sorted , either std one fully stripped and cleaned or the aftermarket one.

check with a multi metre with a Ali rad if you can find voltage if using the wrong additive in the cooling system
