SJ Front springs.

Post by tommie »

Does anyone know why the SJ413 drop on the front right? New springs and shocks and after a couple of outings its dropped close on 30mm.

The weight distribution is biased towards driver's side. Battery is on drivers side, steering box on drivers side, the weight of the driver on driver's side, fuel tank and spare offset to drivers side. Most leaf sprung suzukis lean no matter what you do so best option is to just get used to it.

If you've just put new springs in, make sure you ave the springs on the right side. They are handed.

Yup front are marked DS and PS and thay are in right but the back springs both have PS on them, what gets me tho is it was sitting level when first went in and even after first couple of outings. and battery not in there and tank is in the middle just behind seats and steering boxes aint that heavy.

Well that leaves the driver, not going to make any assumptions in that department though! If it bothers you that much you either need to remove leafs from passengers side to drop it level or add leafs to drivers side to lift it level.

I've noticed some seem to settle more than others. I'm not a little guy and my samurai sits level on 2in efs lift springs. I have my battery rear mounted though. My brothers sj on maxi trac springs are all kinds of sagged and they're relatively new with new bushes. In the front, more than 20mm different to the EFS and almost that much lean side to side without a driver. His battery is still front mounted but its a tiny baby battery. Have tried all configurations of the springs and have decided they are just shit. Good example of get what you pay for maybe?
