Air Lift Spring Helper Discovery 1 ???

Post by flatsix »

Up in the wilbreforce a couple of days back, wagon (Disco1) going great, even put the nose under for a bit, no worries. The drive up and back on the road is the bastardy bit, 90kph is about it due to its knifey handling. 2" lift, 31.5" every bush changed/replaced, toe set, caster sorted etc.

Mate comes into the workshop on Friday, been talking to someone he saw with a disco 1 while filling up at the garage. This guy apparenty had similar handling issues (2" lift), put in some sort of helper air spring, when he is on road pumps it up to 30 psi or whatever and handles like a GT3, off road, deflate them down to nothing or 5 psi and hes back on his springs.

Anyone done this, or know much about it, sound like it might be worth a crack.

About all I can find on the net is this
