Hi all got an old terrano d21 and I recently changed my battery and after doing so I have no head lights low or high beam. I have tail lights and the headlight fuses are ok.
I have found a group of three relays on the drivers side inner panel in the engine bay and when stalk turned of an on I get a click, yet no power to head light plugs. I have also replaced the plugs with another car and the bulbs have been checked and they are ok. Im ok rebuilding the engine but I am a bit of a pumpkin head with electrics so
be kind and if you have an opinion please assume I need ''Terrano Electrics for Dummies'' style answers. There are no obvious loose or broken wires and all plugs are connected. Perfect timing the Easter weekend.......Ive considered temp setting up a toggle switch in the dash for the lights but I would rather have them working normally.
All help gratefully recieved cheers all

Re: Terrano headlights have stopped working
D21 Terranos don't have factory relays for the head lights, they are direct from the switch to the lights. Do you get power to the headlight fuses with the switch on, the 2 for low will get power with the switch on and in the low position and the same for the high fuses. If it has had relays added the will probably be powered directly from the battery so check that you haven't left the feed for them off at the battery when taking it out. Also all the main fuse links are beside the battery and do get corroded and fall apart when disturbed, they are the short pieces of wire in plugs of 2 and 3 just down from the positive battery terminal.

Not sure which plugs you are meaning.....these pics are all the ones running off the positive terminal. Cant see anything that I recognize as a fuse link.....?

Those short pieces of green orange and black wire are the fuse links.
