Bit more progress this weekend. Got the winch cradle half complete, its looking good but ran out of argon for the tig so will hopefully do some more next weekend.
And mocked up the new geolanders with the big flares.

The jig i have been working on over the last few weeks. Picks up on the trailing arm mounts and sets the pinion angle, so i can put them all back exactly in the right spot once the axle housing has been cut and widened

Thanks mate, standard width currently, Running 7" rims really deep backspacing that hug the hubs and 33x9.5 BFGs, rebuilt 8" 4-pin front Nissan LSD with solid pinion spacer. Upper a-arms are about 10mm longer but will be extended 50mm from the centre of the upper BJ mount with brackets made from same strength material as arms, very little leverage then use massive lower balljoint as upper because it will be load carrying.
Steering... I want to go inverted Y-link (eg Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee etc) which will be a total one off, I've never seen it done before on IFS but if I can get the tierod/draglink to follow the arc of the arms, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Sure you probably already know this, but just beware of the lvvta requirements on the construction of the load bearing arm, they are pretty particular, its what my tech approval im working through at the moment is for.

just in case you weren't aware, the 2jzgte trans doesn't have a kickdown cable, and so relies on the factory ECU to control line pressure, which means that people who don't compensate for that tend to burn their transmission out. So make sure whoever sets up the TCM2000 increases the line pressure when the throttle is buried.
Strong trans, I know a guy who drag raced for years with 350rwkW with a standard 2jzgte auto trans. But i bet you already know all this...

Also got a mate at work to cnc fold up a extrusion for making my radiator support removable. Have cut the panel now and started drilling off the doubler underneath for some fasteners.

Have been talking to a guy here in chch who has tuned many of these transmissions with the same controller, he has a few files to send through, good to get it going and some fine tuning will hopefully be all thats needed. Time for an update,many hours have gone into the truck in the last few weeks, but my engine mounts are now all finished. The motor sits exactly where i want it, and its looking really nice in the hole!!
It dosent look like much work but that lot took me around 40 hours to make. Base is 10mm, sides are 7mm and backing is 3mm. Using y60 safari rear control arm ends and bushings for the mounts. They have come out well, fair to say I bloody love my tig!!!Re: My Pajero build. The Whale mk2.

Excellent build Chris, please keep us updated in this post. I figured out who the author was with the photo of the LWB Paj on the home made ramps and bingo ----- I know who this is. Now don't put to bigger tyres on and upset Uncle MUZZA. Your engineering and Fab work has surpassed Dads and Uncles agriculture back yard modifications --- but hey--- they did and do work.

Nothing to interesting to report lately, been working on a few wee sideline projects, mainly a watercooler for my tig torch and a few other bits to make my life easier. Turbo manifold adaptor is finished, turbo placement is sorted so fabrication of the exhaust is up next. 3.5" piping is on order so hopefully have some more visual progress next few weeks ☺
