Maratoto wires loop. Sunday 3rd april
Looking at doing a loop ran on sunday.
Grade 5 track bush trucks or fully barred up.
Self recoverable and fully dressed.
Expect panel damage otherwise
8.00 at the ford.
Anybody keen?

Went in yesterday.
Meet a couple of new blokes in a tweeked bj74 who had never done the loop.
Bit of damage to their roof line otherwise great day.
Had an awesome day in at 9.00 and out at 5.30.
Sorry no photos
Must look at getting a video system.
Any susgestions on gopro or similar etc and unit models?

Well didnt get a camara yet but went for another loop ran yesterday....
Track is very wet and bogs are getting cut up
Had a good blast tho did the loop with start to finish from the ford 3.5hrs
Steering box hasnt twisted any further and not leaking so im staying with that at the moment. Im carrying a spear box with me just i case
Track will require major work before it opens next season

dont go Chinese mate. my diff man said they are all rubbish compared to the arb and eaton.davemeasures wrote:Working 2 jobs this week mite splash out an get a air locker
yep they may have the same part numbers but thats where it stops. shit metal. shit machining. shit assembly!! and as they are so badly assembled they take longer to install.
i bought a p.o.s unit and it come with 4 1/2 spider pins instead of 1 full length pin and 2 halves. the center housing should of been press fit but the ports were close to a mm oversize. lee could only get two spiders to load at any one time!!!!
anyway thats my bitch manual locker is the way to go but as its a trailer truck what about auto as in Detroit or similar. dont rely like the lock rites on larger wagons, just look a bit under engineered that all.. but there is a few other decent brands around
contact tim on here he did me a real decent price a couple of year back.. actually he may of supplied a couple plus over the years....

Electric brake solanoids fitted to front and rear systems. Works great
Re: Maratoto wires loop. Sunday 3rd april
Hi, do they stay locked even with the power off after they have been activated, do they then release when you put your foot on the brake like the manual ones do.
Cheers

They are fully electric. Ive got mine wired directly to the main power supply buzz bar with its own fuse.
This is my switch with its own led warning light and i have to turn the switch to release the brakes.
Got them off low range in the states off hand around $250.00nzd landed.
Awesome little units that as long as the units arent faulty will hold psi until released. A lot of the drag racing lock off valves release after only very short periods and will not hold full psi even after activated.
Great way of achieving park brake and with one unit on both lines hold better than any manufacture set up
As they garb with the calapers not a intrenal shoe drum set up that is normally covered in clay and crap.
I did it to remove the whole vx80 b.s. set up that doesnt hold even on a road going vehicle let alone a hard core dedicated bush truck

Re: Maratoto wires loop. Sunday 3rd april
Mite have to invest in them
Re: Maratoto wires loop. Sunday 3rd april
off topic a bit, but they look like trailer brake solenoids that you fit as an electric reverse lever thing.. about $80 from bnt from memory, I run one in the buggy as my handbrake. Might save the US freight
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..
Re: Maratoto wires loop. Sunday 3rd april
Just got a price from BNT, $102 incl GST, just a bare unit.
Might get a few of the LowRange ones in my shipment, including the fitting adapters, getting some manual ones as well so don't require power to keep them on.
Cheers
