Hi Guys
The vehicle is a 1988, Y60, high roof, 4.2 N/A, LWB, with a wire dip stick . the crimped end has no marking or they faded beyond, could some one give me a measurement from bottom of stick as a min and max line in mm. Thanks
How to read a Y 60 wire dip stick?

Re: How to read a Y 60 wire dip stick?
Hey mate
I have a 1992 TD42 safari and my dipstick is also a wire with a crimped end. I understand that the high and low limits are the limits of the crimped section of wire. So the top of the crimped section is the upper limit of engine oil and the bottom of the crimped section is the lower limit or oil.
Good luck

Just as tucktrucker says.. the crimped end piece is your high/low limit
My second car was an 87 Pulsar with a CA16DE in it with the ubiquitous wire dipstick.
