SJ413 Sus.

Post by Tumor »

Hey all,
I am pricing up a SJ413 build and im wondering about suspension.
I want decent on-road handling/good off-road capabilities/and good flex all in the one package. Anyone got any suggestions on what the best brands are?

Hi Mate,
there is some really good information on the Auszookes and outerlimits forums on this subject... here is a good start http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic.php?p=1147697

I am no expert, but went through all this recently for my SJ. my conclusions were:

- most "lift" springs don't provide much gain in flex, but OME appear to have the best on offer and EFS close 2nd. I have Ironman on my SJ and it was real Firm with average flex... I had to remove leafs to get it to flex to the bumpstops at the back
- RUF conversion seems to be the best option for flex up front if you want to put in the effort
- the front factory upper shock mounts are pretty limiting if you want longer shocks to accommodate more flex
