Am looking at some 30x9.5R15 but was just thinking what is the minimum mods needed to get 31's under without rubbing. I'm already running a +2" bodylift and trimmed arches. Cheers guys
Edit
Just saw some reasonably priced 16" rims on TM w? a Suzuki stud pattern so was wondering if anybody's run a 245/75R16 tyre on a Escudo/Vitara. They seem a popular upgrade on later model Grand Vitaras and on some Sidekick Sports but couldn't find anyone running them on a normal Escudo. I imagine they'd need similar mods to fit as 31's but they're a touch narrower so would be better on gravel roads
31's on a Escudo???? How 'bout 245s????

It's a nice simple mod as you can use the factory offset rims and not have to worry too much about guard rubbing. 245's are not as good on sand though...

Are you referring to 30's or 31's?churchill wrote:It's a nice simple mod as you can use the factory offset rims and not have to worry too much about guard rubbing

Sorry, 245/75/R16.

I had 31s on my 3 door Escudo on 15x8 rims with -19 offset. It had a two inch body lift and a two and a half inch suspension lift.
No rubbing issues.

That seems like a pretty wide offset vs what i've been seeing on forums before (researching to buy an Escudo). Do you have a pic? I like that fitment on my L300, curious about it on the Escudojimmyf8 wrote:I had 31s on my 3 door Escudo on 15x8 rims with -19 offset. Cool, and how did you find the gearing? Did you lose much 'get up and go' ????? (Or braking for that matter?)jimmyf8 wrote:I had 31s on my 3 door Escudo on 15x8 rims with -19 offset. It had a two inch body lift and a two and a half inch suspension lift.

I found the gearing alright. They aren't fast anyway so it didn't bother me but it affected it a little. I also had an Escudo with a 3 inch suspension lift with 15x8 -19 rims and 30's. I preferred this set up mainly because I dislike body lifts.Crawlerer79 wrote:Cool, and how did you find the gearing? Did you lose much 'get up and go' ????? Here are some photos of the 2 inch body lift and 2.5 inch suspension setup.

Both of those are sweet, making me reconsider the search for a LWB model
