It isnt a 5 minute job getting a landcruiser transfer case under a hilux body without a body lift, I couldnt even guess how many boxes of beer were needed to get the floor back in and the seats back at the right height.
Wouldnt do it again in a hurry

no body lift, good on ya, same with mine, everything would be so much easier with a 2 inch body lift, but as low as possible is my motto with the biggest tyres, what coil set up you using?

Yeah 2inches would have helped, but 4 inches would have been better.
Cutting out the floor was the best fix and avoided some other issues which might have stopped it getting certified , but it was a prick of a thing to get it right.
Suspension is a bit of mix and match using bits of: jeep, terrano, safari, landcruiser and pajero.
Hope it all works

3 link front and rear-simple and strong
Cruiser power steer box cause the hilux was actually a beam axle 4runner with arm strong steering.

I would be interested in the elocker and a pair of 8in 4.88 heads. What ratio does the locker have?

I am also trying to locate a Prado coil front solid axle with arms etc.

Cheers
Matt.

Madaz wrote:How much of a premium, cause I've got a couple of sets in the garage
1 set of 4.8s ,1 set of 4.3s and 1 set of 4.8 out of a prado( turoas keen on these)
Also have a toyota e-locker that might be surplus to requirements( to fit a 8 inch head)

hmmmmm

Sweet as LPZ

Its not some kind of inner growth on the inside of the guard , but the bottom of the airbox that we layed up in there.
Not really that happy with the fit of any of the other air cleaners I tried so I'm just gonna make something and see how it works out.

I went for the 2 inch body lift and it went streight in also keeped with the prado 5 speed . Very nice job mate are you going to put it in the winch comps , should go well , nice length , good winch , got to go well , mines a D/Cab 1uz blowen , with mid mounted winch (pto and elec)sitting on nissan diffs and coils , still working out how to drive it . look forward to seeing it on the road . 1UZ Has been going strong with that blower till" now ", Started to use a lot of water and was running very hot so have just pulled it out of hilux and striped it down . She has a blowen head gasket and needs new pistons / liners / rings / havent got to the bearings yet , 10 lbs is a bit much for the piston lands to handle and over driving the blower heats up the air to much so will now fit the inter cooler and decompress the pistons . Will be good to see you guys (madaz & TeLexs) going head to head one day, might even have to have a wager on it

when I'm not too busy (in the winter and when it's nice and slippery) and Madaz is up and running I could set up a couple of practice stages out at Ngaroma for yous to practice on if you're keen.

Wager sounds good . How about at the next Rerewhakaaitu run , Scott's. talking about running another school fundraser , winner could give the winnings to the school if he or she wonted too. This time he is going to make it tougher than last year so get your trucks ready. Rangielux this time you can have another go at hugging that tree   again , That was one of the funniest things ive seen 4wding , chainsaws are a lot easer on you gear mate   .. Will keep every one posted on dates . Cheers Klem

 Silly place to plant a tree or a silly place for a track, one or the other

Over by Rotorua near Rainbow mountain ish, was mid-winter last year Madaz. I got to fix my truck first - broke both engine mount rubbers and one trans mount going silly (lucky it's also chained in) other wise it could've fallen out the bottom

If you spent less time on here Madaz, then maybe you'd have the truck going by now. Maybe.
