pajero exceed no power , your thoughts?

Post by basics »

first noticed the check engine light came on this morning as i got on the on ramp and it stayed on for only 2-4 seconds so i carried on.

then heading up a really long steep hill, at high way speeds i lost most of my power, it wouldnt rev past 3000rmp (3.5petrol) and slowed down to about 40kph.

all the fluids are fine,

had the cam belt and water pump done less than 1000km ago

im thinking its the fuel filter as it only happens when i mash the peddal. it cruises nicely on the open road but if i come to a red light and try get going again, goes good unless i go past about 2700RPM.

any ideas?

My brother has similar issues with his after the Christchurch earthquakes. Refuelling during mild aftershocks and sediment in the service station fuel tanks caused huge problems. Cost him a couple of grand to replace fuel filters and injectors, and flush the whole fuel system....

 Bit of help here gurus.maybe a dumb question...

Found these injectors online

http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/6-FUEL-INJECTO ... Ciid%253A3

The only differnce is my pajero is an MN. These injectors say for n NL.
Same engine as mine so will this make any difference?

My engine is the 6G74 and the old injwctors are yellow so should be the right ones. Right???

Thanks

Yours is the NM (as opposed to the MN you typed) but like you I'd be very certain they are the same, assuming yours in not the GDi motor. But having clicked on the link I might not be so sure?? Try this one??
