So started the clean up of the Chevy, sump off, old plugs out, carby and inlet manifold off. Its looking pretty tidy having sat in a barn for 15 years 8)

Spent the day going over it, cleaning out the mason bee nests and sparrow poo. Old oil looked pretty good, no nasty surprises
Will give it a scrub up and water blast tomorrow.

I will spend the evening going over the manual and see what to look out for as it goes back together.

I will initially run the Rochester carb and manual fuel pump, Brian Howat reckons they are matched nicely so will run with that.
I have some rams horns to fit up so will have plenty of power/torque without having to beef up all the breakable bits

Very nice....
The little plug that connects the top coil is prown to failing. I soldered cables to the cables that went to the plug terminals and used a proper water proof plug to link the top and bottom units.

The plug used to come loose when climbing staircases and heavy washouts etc.

The plug was cable tied to a clip on the fire wall. Never looked back once this mod fitted.

Ok, so we are underway with some serious intent on moving this project forward.

Gearbox out on weekend removed bell housing to get Chevy bell housing adapted to suit R151 G/Box
I could get this done or do myself but does anyone know of an "off the shelf" bell housing to suit SBC to yota box?

Cheers, I did have a look at these guys too. Got my engine mounts from Advanced, good price landed here pretty quick too.

http://www.advanceadapters.com/products ... using-kit/

Works out at about $680NZD plus freight.

Have been trying A1 turbos in AKL but no one answers the phone up there....

As above I'll try modding existing housing, I have a contact with a milling machine and digital read out so can machine it after throwing some electric glue at it.

Cheers.

There is this, but still needs work, so not paying that kinda money to still work on it.
