Update on Snorkel

Masked up & ready to cut.

Went the stitching 4mm holes & powerfile direction.
Kept the holes less then 4mm apart so can join with slight angling of the drill. keeps it neat.

DIY riv-nut tool.
long bolt, nut on next then washer, then something to stop the riv-nut spinning (I use angle iron so can hold spanner at same time) then riv-nut far enough up the bolt shaft to use all thread in the riv-nut. insert in to hole, hold the angle iron & the bolt still, & tighten the nut until solid.! done.

We had 3 homemade rivnut tools (5,6,8,mm) using a cordless drill in the shop until we bought the proper tool and it made huge difference in speed of installation especially doing 60+ in a day lol.

Im am with you there. wouldn't want to do more than a few without the correct gear. $130 seemed a bit steep for 6 of them in my case.
If i was to do them in any regularity even as low as a few per mth I would get the correct gear.

Lifted, had to go a bit less that hoped as the cv's would bind a little when wheel lifted.. so was abot 40mm front & 45mm rear.

Got trans temp gauge fitted & she's running nice & cool, even in stationary traffic.

Got the tow-bar modified & Recovery Hitch fitted.
Ended up with 8x m8 & 4x m10 high tensile & 6 factory bolts holding it all in place, so should be quite strong...

Just got to get the Exhaust finished & thats the rear sorted.

Ordered winch bar only to find its on 4 week back order :( gutted..

I bought one from AliExpress (have done almost 100 from 4mm to 10mm now):

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/YOUSAIL ... 86761.html

Just dont buy the rivnuts from there, buy them locally. Quality from AliExpress was awful.
