Also got a 25x30 ram for the free spool, but liking the simplicity of the pull free spool for now.

Made a key way to lock out the cam on the brake shaft. Now there is no force applied to the c clip.

Forgot to take a photo but added another 8 ish counter sunk bolts to hold it all together.

Used a bit of tube to gusset the brake master cylinder bracket.

Mounted the brake cylinder, air solenoids and control wiring in an ip 56 rated box. Cut a perspex window out to keep an eye on it.

Clever guy. Couldn't you have mounted the freespool controller etc in the cab & just run the hydraulic hose to the brake?

Looks like it's mounted in the back of the truck as it is so out of the shit anyway

Its stays clean out the back and nice and high to keep it out the soup. Could look a bit better but works for now.

I used an old warn solenoid pack to make the 24v supercharger. Works mint.....but burnt out ha ha to be expected.

Short video of how the winch disc brake works. Spring slows down winch motors. Once delay timer counts down it lock brake in place with air pressure on the back of the ram.
