Im buying or atleast wanting to get a set of 265/75/16 to the truck. I already own 2 very good km2 bfg muds... So do I
A: buy 2 more km2 bfgs muds to make a full set cost $950
B: buy a full set of all terrain bfg 1st generation new for $1200
C: buy a new set of yokohama geo mt for $1000
I don't do much mud slinging anymore so it is for looks, ground clearance, and some beach launching and driving for fishing...
The bfg muds look sweet but the bfg all terrains are probably more suited... I don't do a hell.of a lot of Ks. Just not sure which option to take.
I'm leaning towards the bfg muds

ATs imo would be the best way to go... you can go a very long way on ATs... as for looks, muddies maybe but personally I'd rather the better economy (cause I'm tight haha), quieter drive, better road performance etc. In saying that tho, new mud tyres have come a looonnggg way, might give the older ATs a run for their money, road wise

Option A sounds sensible although there are reports of the KM2 not lasting quite as long as the original KM. Still exceptional in all conditions except possibly snow. But it remains the LS or VQ of non-extreme mud radial tyres, ie the industry benchmark.
Option B thats a great price though, are they brand new old stock KOs?

Option C !
They are a great looking tyre. not horrible in the wet (unless you drive your 4x4 like a race car).
And you will end up with 2 good spare tyres (your 2 good KM2) or sell them for a couple hundred.
And that one time that one time you need to rescue your mate from Tuakau bridge you will be able to spin up your new muddies
Oh and will look better.

I went and ordered x2 more km2 muds.. had the other 2 sitting there anyway. I will see how it goes, may look at a taller tyre in the near future anyway...
