Anyone owned a late 90s GMC / Chevy Taho / Yukon (GMT400)?
I'm tossing up ideas on getting a newer vehicle and these seem to tick a few boxes.
Needing something that can tow 2.5+tonnes long distance on the odd occasion and something that is fairly capable off road. and something that is very reliable (able to go 2 weeks camping and bush-wacking all over NZ and getting me home again)
I know these things will tow easily but not so sure of the off road part???
Any of you played with one of these in the mud and NZ forests? Our NZ tracks can be a bit tight but I have managed to throw my LWB Safari around for many years without to many issues and I dont think these are much bigger than a Safari/Patrol.

Cool and capable wagon no doubt, but what would parts availability be like? I can't imagine repco or anyone local stocking many pieces for these. I could be wrong, but something to think about.
Re: Anyone have any Experience with the GMC / Chevy Tahoe
easy enough to get parts shipped these days. I have a couple of jeeps and while I will always try to source parts locally and will even pay a bit more for GOOD local parts and service I am getting things landed at my door from USA quicker than from south island
I would hate to try get a gear box or something big sent over though
I went the sensible way, as most of the info on these I could find were from people cutting springs and lowering them to the ground with shiny bits of chrome and 28" chrome spinning rims, so I bought a landcruiser

yea im about 20L/100k at the moment on 33s but thats empty.
Ill look into plugs and points and injectors, egr, cat, etc to get the fuel use down a bit.
Just did all the oils and they all came out nice and clear (including th eAuto) so thats a good sign.
