Race ready j top gen 2 diesel?

Sooo

Some of you may laugh and please do so!

I brought a gen1 swb with pto 2.5 td for 700 bucks and it was utterly buggered not a straight pannel on it!

Gathered some parts from a mate and cobbled it together

Took it for a thrash at rallywoods and it actually went well! Drove some tougher tracks and supprised the heck out of me!

But I was stuck with a buggered body!

Talked to the man him self jarred Wilson from Wilson 4x4 wreckers and he found me a rolling j top gen 2 with 5.2 diffs!
Picked that up from taramanui and dragged it home

It's got rusty floors but the body is abouy a 9 out of 10 Condition wise

So here we are up to date with the project as of today

Plan is stripped out (I've stripped the inside some what more to come tho 17kg out already) gen 2 with a internal cage
Pto winch set back in the engine bay and the warn high mount I have in the back as a second winch facing backwards so I can winch both foward and back


4d56t has had the timing advanced and it goes a lot better after some further tinkering
I plan to run a fuel cell in the boot as well as the large battery's I have and the winch and radiator all crammed into the back... Some how

Brought a ex trials cage and seats cheap so sawed the roof off and fixed the rust in the floor

Mounted the motor and gearbox in the new chassis the shifter holes need to be moved across so will sort that this week

I've also scored some cheap 35s and dual beadlock rims so have been sorting them out
