Toyota steering boxes

Hey all been a while since posted on here.

Got a question that may he helped on here


In my 185 surf I've used a 78 series steering box it was a we bit sloppy from day 1 of fitted it 7 years ago but looking into replacing it


Do the 80 series mount up the same as in chassis rails etc

The 80 series ones bolt up the same way but unsure if the bolt pitch / pattern is the same....
Have you adjusted the nut on top to take out the slop?
