Hi all
This is my first time posting here and I'm also fairly inexperienced with mechanics so any criticism or advice is welcome
1991 manual td27t terrano
previous owners rebuilt gearbox with new clutch
4x4 worked for a while then a year or 2 ago drivers side hub started clicking and stripped now no 4x4
Recently with help swapped front diff, cv joints, hubs
Still no 4x4, realized now the front drive shaft isn't engaging, a mate checked and could see the linkage moving. Low range works fine too
Next plan is to remove the gearbox or transfer case from a parts truck (1992 auto terrano) and see if we can swap transfer case to fix the 4x4
Anyone done this before or have any other suggestions, ideas, advice ect
Thanks and looking forward to getting to know the community here I've been reading this forum for a few years now and love it

Re: Terrano not engaging front drive shaft
Gees, that brings back memories. The old Terrano eh.
CV snapping, idler bending beast.
Yeah if you're not careful it's easy to break things in the front end.
You've probably solved it by now, but if you haven't and have already replaced most of the drive line in the front, then have you dropped the oil in the transfer or confirmed it's engaging?
