Drivers Briefing: 9.45
Trip Start: 10.00
Land Access charges: $10 per vehicle, to be paid to Mark on the day.
BYO Food
BYO Drink
Dogs: Not Allowed
Alcohol: Not Allowed
Trip grade: 3-5 (0-wuss...5-anything goes)
Safety Requirements: Rated Towhooks, rated recovery strop, spade, fire extingisher, first aid kit
PRS Radio Ch 10

Note: It has been indicated by people that have been there in the past that vehicle damage is highly likely. This is NOT a shiney trip. However, Stinky will point those adverse to serious damage towards an easier option where available.

Click here to view a map of the meeting point. It is the corner of the highlighted Moonshine Road and Highway 58 (ie, not where the marker is pointing)

Hell yeah... have you got the beast running properly now? See you there.

If everyone can make sure that they bring their $10 cash on the day then that will be good.

The Murtons are CCVC Members as well so its probably worth mentioning that you are part of a 4wd club (ORE)

Turoa's place is next door and Aotea Block is just down the road...If Someone is doing a trip there on Sat.... (I think Warlord is???)

How far is this from Rallywoods and Odlins Rd?
Might be the deciding factor on staying there.

As far as I'm concerned it is an open invitation. I have counted approximately 8 trucks so far, so 2 more will be fine... and from what you say it sounds like they will be looking at doing their own thing anyway.

Having said that... I'll talk to Marty and check if he wants to put a limit to the number of trucks. I guess 10-12 is about the limit before things start getting a bit "slow" or we have to split up. So that leaves 2-4 spaces, assuming the 2 above will be doing there own thing.

I'm new to this, so tell me if I'm out of line??

Good call... best way to deal with these things. We'll just see who turns up on the day and see how it works out.

All go. All welcome. Looks like there will be about 12 trucks. Ignore my previous comments about limits to numbers as I have since been advised that there is heaps to do in there anyway. See you there.

The trip was great. Mt Turoa erupted again with steam aplenty! But he was soon going again so that allowed him to put a hole in his diff casing and leak oil all through the river!! Some panel damage to one or two vehicles, and a broken handbrake and fanbelt for Jumper, but apart fromthat I think that everyone pretty much escaped lightly.

So cool tracks in there. Definitely not for those who do not expect to do any damage at all. But heaps of hard core options for those more set up for it. Was a great days viewing watching Wacko and his mate "climb" the waterfall.

Dave has some photos as we forgot our camera  , but I am sure that he will upload them to the site when he gets back to Blenheim.

Forgot to say....thanks heaps Stinky for a great trip, awesome trip leading! As for Mark, I can't say much as I will get accused of being biased, but the fact that everyone turned up on time at the right place must be a good sign??
