Hi
yep I know abit about mongrels, tires that is, I read a write up in the Aussie 4wd mag which they gave rave reviews. I imported a set of 31x10x15s which I have been using for 3 years and didnt want to become part of 'everyone has .............( insert any well known brand )there fore thats what you use'. Althought they havent got the same a mount of side lugs as swampers, on light 4wds they work very well. They are a retread on General Grabber cases and are retread from bead to 1/2 down the side wall on the inside. I have put mine thru hell and back and I'm still impressed. In mud I find that letting the pressure down to about 12lbs is ok and have run them down to 7lbs with out problems.
As with most things you will find knockers by people? who dont know any better or 30 years ago a mate of the next door nieghbour sister in laws friend had a recap come off. Progress has happened.
good luck and keep asking
cheers

As well as DJ's truck there are four others running 33x12.5x15 Mongrels in the Rotorua area (or ex Rotorua) and a hilux with 31s. I run them on my Wizard and they go really well, heaps of grip. Quieter on the road than Simexs. The others have got them on swb landcruisers and another Wizard. I would say try them.

hi
paid $1250 NZD landed at the door set of 4 but that was 3 years ago now only thru NZ agent (New Plymouth tire reseller advert in 4wd shiney mag for Aucklanders) Wear on tires is now 3mm not bad, I would have worn out Simex's by now. And yes they are very quiet 4 a off road tire

I've sold a few, have a look at http://www.4wdbits.co.nz/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=142 for some customer feedback.
