Jerry's Daihatsu Rugger (Rocky) Build.....

Post by Jerry »

Ok everyone else is doing one so I thought I'd document progress....

First to go was the roofrack and then the rear seat, in its place a storage box was built.

New seats

Airflow Snorkel has been fitted, probably will spend more $$$ and get a better quality one...but it seems to do the job anyway

The front shovel (PTO bumper) is off now, thats 100kg less weight

Look at the approach angle now

This is the PTO drive off the TCase, which has a crack in it, I'm guessing I have smacked it against something

The Aircon radiator thingy has been removed which should help cooling, will look at putting in a couple of small on demand fans, some hooks have been put on, these will be replaced soon with a new 12v winch and new barwork which include hooks.

Next job is to get the radiator out and get it tested and rodded, as its full of crud again.....

On the list is to fill the holes in the rear floor (so loads of mud and water doesn't come in next time) and line it with something, thinking about making storage box 2. 2 inch lift.[/img]

Why not mid mount the PTO or something?

From what ive heard, people kill their electric winches from dunking them in muddy water, so wouldnt at least a mid mount electric winch be better?

Keep the Pto, modify that front crossmember, shorten the shaft and get it right back in there

I wouldn't be dumping a PTO winch over an electric one Jerry. I know there are pros and cons for both, but I'm pretty sure PTO is way better.

Jerry

Mrs Husain reckons that storage box is a bit messy inside and could do with a bit of a tidy up!
