Front brake diagram

Post by wainui44 »

Does n e body know a good site on the net for sourcing diagrams for cruisers? Need a front brake setup/parts/maintance diagram for the front brakes. Don't have a manual, and the library hasn't got this models manual. Its a 1989 LJ71. Since it appears to be surf/hilux running gear, would a LN61 manual be a good reference? LTSA man says I need to sort out the uneven brake performance before he can issue a WOF. N E ideas greatfully received.

Cheers

lj71? i guess disc front end?
as far as i am aware all or most of the disc fronts are reasonably similar.
the firts thing i would check is the pads condition and also thae state of the rotors. uneven braking is most often caused by contaminated pads (either oil or brake fluid).
the only thing i would suggest is to take it to a brake specialist, unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing.
actually thinking about it, bleeding the brakes would be the first thing i would do, could have air on one side, making it less agressive than the other.

i have a 70 series manual if you need specific info. would be able to send some your way if needed.
